Evening performance at the 4th Annual Spring Recital, "Painting the Stage", on Wednesday,May 8th at 6 pm at the Ocean City Performing Arts Center in the Convention Center. Mandatory dress rehearsal on Monday or Tuesday May 6th or 7th. Additional costume purchase fee of $25.

Demi Dance Company focuses on technique, strength, flexibility, and musicality as dancers learn choreography to popular music in the styles of contemporary, jazz, modern, lyrical, and hip hop. Classes will include ballet barre exercises to teach proper alignment and positioning. Beginners are welcome!
APPROPRIATE DANCE ATTIRE: For company classes, students should wear a black leotard and black leggings, jazz/yoga pants or black or “suntan tights”. Tan jazz shoes are required for the performance, but either black or tan can be worn for class. Boys may wear black jazz shoes, a black or white T-shirt and athletic shorts/pants/sweats, but nothing baggy.
Dance Level Placements
Our performing arts programs are growing quickly and evolving to suit the developing needs of our young performers. Dance programs at the Red Doors aim to instill the joy in each student the joy of dance as an art form. The program includes technical skills, choreography, improvisation, musicality, and performing skills in a supportive and structured atmosphere.
Pre-Ballet I is for children ages 2-4 who turned 2 before the first day of the class.
Pre-Ballet II is for children ages 4-6 who turned 4 before September 1, 2018 and are eligible for prekindergarten or kindergarten. Kindergarteners with prior dance experience may choose to dance up a level in Mini Company instead.
Mini Company is for children in Kindergarten who have prior dance experience and 1st graders.
Junior Company is for children in 2nd-3rd grade.
Demi Company is for children in 4th-6th grade.
Senior Company is for students in 7th-12th grade. Performance choreography will be differentiated for varying skill levels from beginner to advanced.
Classical Ballet is for any student 3rd grade and older wishing to study ballet in the Vaganova tradition. Proper alignment, positioning, technique, and strength are a focus of this mixed-age class. Students will be preparing to dance en pointe from age 12 on after several years of study and permission from the instructor.
Pointe is classical ballet wearing pointe shoes, and requires permission from the instructor who will determine if technique, core strength, and ankle strength are of an appropriate level for the student to dance en pointe.
