Tuesdays 4:30-5:3010 weeks – February 25, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, April 14, 21, 28, May 5No class April 7 Jen Backof  Cooking for a Cause:  In the winter session, instructor, Jen Backof, encouraged students to experiment with flavors through creating soups, casseroles, and muffins each week.  She will continue to help them expand their knowledge of being creative with flavors with one of Ms. Jen’s favorite ways to cook:  Campfire cooking!  Although most of our meals will be prepared in the oven indoors, they can be adapted to be put over a fire for those nice summer nights on Assateague.  We will experiment with packet cooking, mystery meatballs (stuffed with a variety of fillers), veggie/side dishes, breakfast options, and dessert of course! There will be weeks where recipes are selected by Jen and others where students will get to choose. NEW this session:  We will have an opportunity to go to Diakonia and cook dinner and dessert for their residents.  Towards the end of the session, students will get to show off their culinary skills as they come together for a night of camaraderie and outdoor campfire cooking where they will get to learn to build a campfire, make Walking Tacos, and learn that S’mores go way beyond two graham crackers, a marshmallow, and square of chocolate!   This class will be held on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30 and 6:15-7:15. Please sign up for only one session, as we will be repeating in the 6:15 class what was done in the 4:30 class.  Class costs $100/per student, and registrants will be limited to 8 students per class.  Classes will begin the week of February 24, 2020 and run for ten sessions.  There will be no class Tuesday, April 7, 2020 due to spring break.
