This fun Beginner/Intermediate level class introduces basic hip hop steps and style, teaching combinations to current (age appropriate) hip hop music. Our philosophy is that dance is for everyone, and as a result we respect the varying developmental phases of children and recognize that not everyone will be following along perfectly all of the time. That’s okay! This class is about exploring movement and having fun. APPROPRIATE DANCE ATTIRE: Students should wear shorts or sweatpants and T-shirts or other athletic wear and sneakers. The sneakers should be clean and free of dirt and debris in the treads. The lower the profile of the tread, the better for movement. Instructor: Anna Trattner Anna Trattner just recently graduated from the University of Tampa with a BA in Applied Dance (dance education). She began dancing at the age of 4 and has been trained in a variety of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, hip-hop, musical theater, improvisation, lyrical and modern. She competed in regional and national dance competitions for 8 years where her team won multiple titles at both levels. She also worked as a character and performer at western theme park Frontier Town. While in college, Anna studied the brain-compatible teaching methods of Anne Green Gilbert and she had the opportunity to perform and choreograph for a variety of campus and community events. She also became a part of the National Dance Educators Organization and was able to attend conventions with other dancers and teachers from all over the United States. Since earning her degree, she has been teaching a variety of classes with a Tampa-based company called Creative Movement and Dance before moving back home to Ocean City. Anna is excited to share her love of dance and her passion for teaching with the students at Red Doors. Limit 12
